WeWelcome to TRIC Salon!! TRIC opened its doors in May 2017, serving up amazing hair and nails and an even better atmosphere. Here at TRIC we consider our clients friends and family and feel honored to be part of their lives. We pride ourselves in providing amazing services in a fun, friendly environment. Our experience in the industry, as well as our passion in continuing education, allows us to deliver the look you are wanting! Cara Apsey, owner of TRIC, always wanted to have her own salon inspired by Truvy's Salon in Steel Magnolias. We laugh a lot, cry a little all while delivering exceptional services. I've been delivering amazing hair to my clients for over 15 years and have loved evolving with my clients and keeping up with this ever-changing industry. When I opened up TRIC, I wanted to build a community and not just a salon. Where you can laugh, cry, solve mysteries and change the world with us; all while leaving looking and feeling your best. Megan Spann has specialized in nails for over 12 years and offers acyrlic, dip powder and gel polish. At this time, Megan is not accepting new nail clients.
Kaitlin Young, Hair and Make-up Artist
Hi! I’m Kaitlin Young. I’m a hair and makeup artist based in the Gunnison Valley—what we in the biz call a HAMUA. My personal brand is kyoungdaymaker because my goal in life is to make someone’s day through my craft.
I grew up in Perry, OK, and studied at Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa and Southeastern Oklahoma State in Durant. Later, I attended cosmetology school at Clary Sage in Tulsa, OK.
My HAMU goal is to be your go-to for all things beauty—any time, any place! Whether it’s a low-maintenance cut that fits your everyday lifestyle or full glam for a gala or once-in-a-lifetime event, I want you to look and feel your absolute best. I believe deeply in natural beauty, and my hair and makeup style reflects that. I specialize in makeup that looks great in natural light—not filtered for Instagram. When you look in the mirror, I want you to see you.
In 2021, I was honored to be voted “Best in the Butte” among local stylists—an incredible recognition from this amazing community. I love everything people come here to enjoy, especially skiing. At home, I live with my partner and our little dog, Hermit.
Most importantly, I know this work isn’t about me. It’s about you—feeling confident, cared for, and stress-free on your special day.
